Heart and Soul in Soil
"This is not just about growing food. This is about finding purpose."
We've been invested in making compost for over a decade, and there's a reason for that. When life gets too messy, good soil can always help clean it up. Handling living compost, putting it in your garden, it's an act of service. Service to the plants, to you, to the process.
If you ever feel lost, the soil is a good place to start.
What we're doing
Our mission is to expertly compost Vermont's agricultural and forest by-products into a rich, nourishing material that feeds our plants more of what they're craving. We are approved for use for organic farming by NOFA, and want to provide as many Vermonters as we can with this powerhouse product.
Not only are we helping growers and farmers with their crops, we're giving invaluable purpose to natural forest materials and farm manures that might otherwise be wasted, keeping them from potentially causing harm to the environment or state's water supply.
Our compost is formulated with locally sourced manures: primarily goat, equine and cow, as well as Vermont's own foresting by-products like hardwood bark mulch, wood-chips and shavings.
We believe in sourcing local to feed local.
Who cares about compost?
Everyone! Compost is foundational for all living things. It's a vital part of the life cycle and everyone benefits from the rich nourishment it provides. In this business we are facilitators, we want to feed the things that are feeding us. If we find that our food is lacking in nutritional value, flavor, or quantity, we know the soil has everything to do with it. Healthy soil means healthy plants, and healthy plants not only feed us, but support our bees, strengthen immune systems, clean our air, and so much more.
